        The itinerary of the 9- day adventure tour from Casablanca to Marrakech Via the Sahara Desert


 

 

Day 1: Meet you at Casablanca Airport and drive to Fes.

 

   We will greet you at Casablanca’s airport and then start our “9- day adventure tour from Casablanca to Marrakech” to the largest Mosque in Morocco which is Hassan’s second Mosque. Afterward, we’ll drive to Fes where you’ll spend your first night in a Riad inside the old Medina


Day 2: Fes Sightseeing guided tour.

 

   After breakfast, you will explore the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We’ll ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including Al Qaraouine University, which is the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tiles cooperative and then see the whole Medina from a wonderful panoramic view.

 


Day 3: Fes- Meknes Midelt in the afternoon.

 

   At mid-day, you will leave Fes traveling towards Ifran, a beautiful mountain village, referred to as “the Switzerland town of Morocco” and then on to Midelt. During this journey, you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas Mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Africa– where you may see Barbary apes. After a break within the forest, your journey continues to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas. The night will be in a hotel in Midelt. 9 days tour from Casablanca.

 


Day 4: Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga. camel ride and night in a camp.

   After breakfast, we will head toward the Sahara Desert of Merzouga via Errachidia and Erfoud crossing the High Atlas Mountains, you’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia, here you will have lunch, and enjoy the Berber hospitality. Afterward, you will drive alongside Ziz Valley with stops for panoramic views. Later on, we will be in the capital of fossils which is Erfoud, where you will visit a fossil cooperative and explore different fossils that are found in that area. Finally, we will be in Merzouga, where You’ll ride Camels and cross the highest Sand Dunes in Morocco with a stop to enjoy a beautiful sunset from the top of a dune and try sandboarding. Then, spend the night in the camp in the middle of the Sahara Desert and enjoy Berber drums under a starry sky.  

 


Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades valley.

 

   In the early morning, your camel man will wake you up to see one of the best sunrises in your life. Then, ride back the camels to a hotel where you will have breakfast and shower. Afterward, we will drive to Rissani where we may visit a big local market if it is a day market, then we will head to Tinghir which is considered the capital of Moroccan Jewish anciently, there where we will see a fascinating Valley which is Todra Valley, after that, you will walk inside Todra gorge which is a national park for rock-climbing. Finally, we will be in Dades Valley another beautiful valley and spend the night there.

 


Day 6: Dades valley – Rose’s valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou kasbah -The high Atlas Mountains – Marrakech.

   After breakfast, we will head towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate taking the road of a thousand kasbahs. The first stop will be in Rose’s town which is Kelaat Mgouna, where an annual festival takes place each May. Then, drive to Ouarzazate which is the “Hollywood of Morocco” where a lot of international films have been shot such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and the Kingdom of Heaven… especially, in the largest and most famous Kasbah in Morocco which is Ait Ben Haddou. After visiting that Kasbah, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains which are the highest in Africa with an altitude of 4167 m but on the way, it will be 2260m with stops to see Berber villages and different landscapes. The night will be in Marrakech.

 


Day 7: Marrakech Sightseeing guided tour

 

   After breakfast in the riad, you’ll start exploring Marrakech with a local guide, “the red city of Morocco”. We will ensure that you’ve visited the most important sites and historical monuments including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, Ben Youssef Madrassa the Saadian tombs, and the Bahia Palace. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, you will walk through the souks and view hundreds of handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will have some free time to wander by yourself in the other parts of the city.

 


Day 8: free day in Marrakech.

 

   The full day is free. So, if you are interested, you can join a cooking class, where you will have a chance to learn how to cook Moroccan typical dishes. Or an excursion to Ourika Valley on the Atlas Mountains.

 


Day 9: Transfer to the airport.
