8- DAY ROUTE FROM TANGIER TO THE BLUE CITY, FEZ, AND MARRAKECH THROUGH THE DESERT
Day 1: TANGIER AIRPORT – CHEFCHAOUEN.
We will pick you up at the Tangier MED port, start our journey of ” 8- DAY ROUTE FROM TANGIER ” through the spectacular Rif Mountains towards Tetoun and along incredibly dramatic landscapes, and then arrive in Chefchaouan, a beautiful location beneath the peaks of the Rif, Chefchaouen is one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco, an artistic, blue-washed mountain village that feels like its own world. The old medina is a delight for Moroccan and Andalusian influences with red-tiled roofs, bright blue buildings, and narrow alleyways converging on the bustling Uta el-Hammam Square and its restored kasbah. Here you will spend a night in pleasant accommodation with a panoramic view allowing you to enjoy the breeze and the beauty of nature.
Day 2 : CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNEZ – FEZ.
After breakfast at the Riad, our authentic journey will start towards Volubilis crossing through Wazan and other Rif villages, in Volubilis, we will discover the Roman ruins and learn about the archaeological site of Morocco history, after the visit to the ruins we will change our way to the city of Meknes, the heritage of the 17th century, where we will stop for lunch and walk along the huge historical walls of the medina, bab el Mansour and enjoy the visit of Moulay Ismail sanctuary. After the visit to Meknez, we will head directly to the city of Fez, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: FEZ (GUIDED TOUR).
After breakfast at your riad, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking Al Qaraouine, the oldest in the region, the tanneries, the Attarine museum, and the Mulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tile cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fez. in its alleys and small streets. Our tour starts by visiting the gate of the Royal Palace, the Jewish barracks, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will make sure you visit all sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous University of Karaouien. We finish with the guide and rest at the Riad.
Day 4: FEZ- CEDAR FOREST- MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA – NIGHT IN A LUXURY MADOU CAMP.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will travel to Merzouga through the cedar forest and Erfoud. You will travel through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz gorge, enjoying the views of the High Atlas plateau, you will notice how the landscape changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the town of Errachidia, here you will have lunch and enjoy the Berber hospitality. You will then travel along the lush Ziz valley, stopping to enjoy panoramic views on the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon. You will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before starting your camel ride to spend the night in the desert with Berber music and sandboarding.
Day 5: MERZOUGA -RISSANI – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY – OUARZAZATE.
Around 6.30 am, we wake up to enjoy the beautiful sunrise that offers us the desert, another of the best moments in the Erg Chebbi. Shower and breakfast at the camp and we leave on camels. In the dune, you will be able to offer different drawings caused by the wind of the night. In the background, you will see the natural border with Algeria just 60 km. you can walk to see how big it is and how it looks from inside the dunes.
leaving behind the dunes of Merzouga leaving towards the holy city of Rissani surrounded by palm groves. Very important commercial city, where every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday are market days in which the people of the area and the nomads of the desert, make their purchases of food for the week. If it is market day, we will stop for a while to visit it. We will continue to the village of Tineghir, where the spectacular Todra Gorges begin at 1350 m altitude and are surrounded by a huge palm grove.
After that, we will arrive at the Dades Gorges on the banks of the river Boumalane We will continue to Kalaat M ́gouna accompanied by a spectacular landscape where the desert and the mountains come together in a play of colors. We will cross crops of corn and roses, especially the latter that give a name to the area, the “Valley of the Roses”. leaving behind the valley of the roses to reach the impressive palm grove of Skoura by the route of the thousand kasbahs, traveling through the traditional architecture. We will pass in front of the Kasbah Amerhidil, built in adobe with crenelated towers, located in the heart of the valley of palms with a large Oasis, whose impressive vegetation gives value to the Kasbahs and ksours we continue to Ouarzazate here where we will spend the night.
Day 6: DADES VALLEY – VALLEY OF THE ROSES – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAIN – MARRAKECH.
After breakfast at the hotel, we continue to Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt Kasbah in the center of town, we can go to see some of the film studios of this Moroccan Hollywood. We will stop at the film studios to take pictures and follow a detour on the road to enter the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its famous Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO). In this spectacular setting where a set of international films have been filmed such as Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz, and Jewel of the Nile.
We continue towards the High Atlas Mountains and pass through the highest point accessible by vehicle in this part of the Atlas: the Tizin ́Tichka Pass with an altitude of 2,262m. This whole area is full of small Berber villages along the way to Marrakech. We take you to your riad I recommend you go out to enjoy Marrakech and its famous Jamaa el Fna Square. To spend an entertaining afternoon.
Day 7: GUIDED TOUR OF MARRAKESH.
After breakfast at Riad, you can start exploring Marrakech “the red city of Morocco”. We will make sure you see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, Madrasa Ben Youssef, and the Bahia Palace. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, you will walk through the souks and see hundreds of handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will have free time to wander by yourself in the other parts of the city.
Day 8: MARRAKECH AIRPORT :
Free time until the scheduled departure of the flight then we will pick you up at the airport, End of our service of “8- DAY ROUTE FROM TANGIER” Thank you very much, and happy return trip.
