The itinerary of 4- day trip from Marrakech to Fes Via Merzouga Desert

 

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou kasbahs- Rose valley- Dades valley.

 

We will start at 8:30 AM from your Hotel/Riad in Marrakech then Start our “4- day trip from Marrakech to Fes Via the Sahara Desert of Merzouga”, towards High Atlas Mountains with stops to see special Berber/ Amazigh villages and magnificent sceneries. Afterward, we will be in one of the oldest and most famous villages in Morocco, which is Ait Ben Haddou, where so many international films have been shot such as Game of Thrones, Kingdom of Heaven, and Gladiator. We’ll have a chance to visit that village to discover the ancient architecture from which that village was built then drive to Dades Valley passing by Rose valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley- Todra Gorge- Merzouga desert- Overnight in a desert Camp.

 

   After breakfast, we’ll drive to Tineghir where you will have stops to enjoy breathtaking views of Todra Valley. Then, we continue to Todra Gorge, free time to walk inside the cliffs about 300 meters high. later on, we’ll leave for Erg Chebbi Dunes in Merzouga passing by Erfoud (the capital of fossils). Finally, we’ll arrive Sahara Desert where you will ride camels and cross the highest dunes in Morocco with stops to see a beautiful sunset that you have never seen in your life then continue to the Camp, where you will have dinner and fire with Drums in the middle of the Sahara.

Day 3: Tour around Erg Chebbi Desert by 4×4- Nomads- Gnawa music- Rissani.

 

  In the Early Morning, your Camel Man will wake you up to see a magnificent Sunrise near your Camp then after breakfast you will head back to the hotel where you are going to meet your guide. Afterward, you will start an exploration journey of the area. First, you will discover an Underground Irrigation System used in an Oasis. then, you’ll visit Nomads and see how they live in the Desert with their Animals. Also, you will visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Also, you may visit a local market if it is a day market. The night will be in a hotel.

Day 4: Sahara Desert- Ziz valley- Cedar forest- Ifrane- Fes.

 

   After breakfast, we will head toward Fes with stops on the way to see Ziz Valley and Ziz Gorge. Later on, we will be in Midelt where you will have lunch. On the way to Fes, we will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, there where we will stop in the biggest Cedar Forest in Africa to see Barbary Apes (monkeys) and Ifrane which is called by Moroccans “the Switzerland town” of Morocco because of its European style of building. We will be in Fes in the evening. End of our 4- day trip from Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara Desert.
