3-day Marrakech to Fes Desert trip
The itinerary of the 3 day- Marrakech to Fes Desert trip:
Day 1: Marrakech- High Atlas Mountains- Ait Ben Haddou Kasbahs- Ouarzazate- Dades Valley.
In the morning, we will depart from your hotel/riad on our 3-day Marrakech to Fes Desert trip and drive towards the High Atlas Mountains via the 2260 m high Tizi N Tichka pass. Along the way, you will see various landscapes and unique Berber villages. After the mountains, we will arrive at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbahs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous filming location. Then, we will drive to Ouarzazate, known as Africa’s Hollywood, and continue to Dades Valley, passing by Rose Valley. The night will be in Dades Valley.
Day 2: Todra Gorge- Nomads- Merzouga desert- Camel trek and overnight in desert camp.
After breakfast, we will drive to Tinghir, where we will see Todra Valley from panoramic views, and then to a beautiful Gorge called Todra Gorge, where you will be able to walk inside 300-meter-high cliffs. Following that, we will pay a visit to the Nomads and share a cup of tea with them. After lunch, we will travel to the Sahara Desert, passing through Erfoud, the fossil capital of the world. After arriving in Merzouga, you will ride camels across Sand Dunes and spend the night in a camp in the middle of the Sahara Desert under a starry sky.
Day 3: Sahara Desert- Ziz valley- Cedar forest- Ifrane- Fes.
“The camel man” will wake you up early in the morning to watch a magnificent sunrise then take a shower in your private tent and have a delicious breakfast in the desert. Following that, we will travel to Fes, stopping along the way to see Ziz Valley and Ziz Gorge. Later, we’ll arrive in Midelt, where you’ll have lunch. On the way to Fes, we will pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we will stop to see Barbary Apes (monkeys) and Ifrane, which Moroccans refer to as Morocco’s Switzerland due to its European-style architecture, before arriving in Fes.
