A kasbah is a fortified house with four towers in the angles and 2 floors. The towers were used because anciently there were conflicts between different regions, that is why they used watch towers in order to watch out the area. This kind of architecture it was special for the South Eastern part of Morocco. Each Kasbah was in habited by a family.
Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, is one of the ninth UNESCO world heritage site in Morocco since 1987. which is located in the South-eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains, especially in the Ounila Valley. It is about 170 km Further from Marrakech City and 30 Km far from Ouarzazate.
Ait Ben Haddou, It’s a name of a Berber ( Amazigh) tribe, which means People of Haddou. which is inhabited that Village of Kasbahs since along time.
Many International films have been shot in this spectacular stage such as: Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Mummy, Indiana Jones, The Babel, Ali Baba with Fourthy Thieves and Lawrence Of Arabia.
